Welcome! To my newly launched website for Single Box Solutions. As some of you know, I attempted a Kickstarter earlier this year in hopes to get an all-in-one home automation panel built. Unfortunately, it failed and I had to get a real job which has done a great job of keeping me busy and my mind active.
What it did not do, was to stop me from learning and developing further on my home automation process. Along the way, I also remembered how much I enjoyed blogging and helping others to learn and do what I have done.
Fast forward 9 months, and I posted a picture of a touch panel I built for our apartment on to reddit:
As far as smaller communities go, I’d say they loved it. I had a few people asking for instructions and realized how much I went through to find the specific things I needed to do make this all work and go together.
And so, this blog was born. If you will follow with me, I will be writing full posts that will walk you step by step through my entire process. I will break them up into modules so that you can search for and do small steps at a time.
My first post (after this one) will provide a step by step guide on how to build your own bare-bones Home Assistant host box. If there is anything else you’d like to see or just want to leave general feedback, please comment below! I want to bring back to community what I got from it so far.
